Ryan Troxel

Head Golf Professional

Ryan Troxel is looking forward to joining the team at Riverside Country Club.  He makes his way here from Sidney Country Club where he was the Head Golf Professional for the past 4 years.  Ryan has been in Montana for 11 of the 12 years he has been in the golf business.  He was the Head Professional at Eaglerock Golf Course and was an Assistant at Laurel Golf Club prior to that.  Ryan has served as an officer of the Yellowstone Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Section PGA for the past 6 years and is the current Secretary of the Rocky Mountain Section.  Ryan has acquired a wide range of skills along the way, including tournament operations, club-fitting and merchandising.  As well, he brings extensive experience in player development and has been a strong advocate for junior golf over the years.  Ryan earned Coach of The Year Honors for Girls golf in 2016 after the team won the Class A State Championship, which followed a runner-up finish in 2015.  Ryan’s wife, Alison, spent her childhood in Butte and after graduating from Montana Western began her career as a teacher.  They have 3 children that keep them busy; Lili, 10, Lexi, 7, and Tucker, 2.  They enjoy spending time as a family recreating outdoors and playing sports.  They are excited to move to Bozeman and become part of the Riverside community!

To make your special events memorable and pleasurable by ensuring exceptional quality and  service for any special event whether it is a business meeting, wedding, anniversary celebration, bridal or rehearsal dinner, graduation celebration or birthday party.

My Responsibilities

- Coordinate every aspect of an event to make sure that it occurs without a hitch; in charge of coordinating all the details required to ensure an event runs smoothly and successfully.

- Calculate a budget for proposed events an ensure that special events are cost-effective.

- Be on-site the day of the event to oversee set-up or perform the set-up themselves, and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

  • Serve as the financial officer of the Club;
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures for accounting, budgeting, taxes, statistics, auditing and internal control under the supervision of the General Manager, and in coordination with the Finance Committee;
  • Maintain the Club’s financial records;
  • Evaluate Club operations in terms of costs, economic trends, controls and profitability and prepares analyses for managerial and administrative functions;

My Responsibilities

  • To professional manage labor, time, materials, and financial resources needed to care for the turfgrass and landscaped grounds on the golf course to ensure the environmental health of the golf course, the sporting needs of the players and the financial sustainability of the country club. 
  • To communicate the status of the grounds and maintenance resources to management, the board, green chair and committee, golfers, vendors, suppliers, golf course architect, and others in the golf industry.
  • To carefully manage the natural weather patterns, environment and other influences that affect the playing areas and landscapes with which golfers interact.
  • To monitor the health of the golf course environment through careful study, diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury to the golf course's turfgrass fairways, tees and greens areas, as well as bunkers, areas of water hazard, naturalized areas and trees.
