Where does my swimmer belong?

Level 1: The swimmer is a beginner who will put their face in the water and blow bubbles but not much else. In this level, Wavefront coaches will help the swimmer to feel more comfortable in the water, while practicing safe water practices such as: how to get in and out of the pool safely, floating with support, gliding with support, blowing bubbles, and fully submerging swimmer’s faces.  Ages 3 +

Level 2: The swimmer is comfortable with their face in the water while blowing bubbles and can safely enter/exit the pool. Swimmers in this level will work with Wavefront coaches to float on their front and back, roll over to breathe, and to glide on independently in the water.

Level 3: The swimmer is able to roll to breathe from back to front and front to back. Swimmers are extremely comfortable in the water and are able to swim the width of the pool independently. In this level, swimmers will build on their knowledge of swimming by learning Backstroke, Freestyle, and Dolphin Kick.

Level 4: The swimmer is able to swim Freestyle and Backstroke the width of the pool independently. Level 4 increases the distance swimmers swim and typically spends a lot of time in the deep end of the pool. In this level, swimmers will learn rotary breathing for Freestyle and learn how to swim Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Level 5: The swimmer is looking to increase his/her stamina in swimming and also to fine tune their stroke technique. Swimmers must know all four strokes for this level. Swimmers in this level will swim the length of the pool regularly and work on wall turns.

Level 6: The swimmer must be able to swim all four strokes at least 50 yards for Backstroke and Freestyle and 25 yards for Breaststroke and Butterfly. Swimmers will build their stamina in this level to swim longer distances and swim with turns and good technique for life-long swimming enjoyment. Swimmers will learn Pike Surface Dives, Tuck Surface Dives, and springboard approaches with the dives.
